TechPoint has a new chairman! This morning we announced that Apparatus CEO Kelly Pfledderer has taken the reins as the new TechPoint chairman and that ExactTarget co-founder Scott Dorsey has stepped up to serve with Pfledderer on the TechPoint executive committee.

The pair take over these leadership roles at a critical time when TechPoint has successfully evolved from its former IT trade association roots in the 1990s into Indiana’s tech ecosystem accelerator. Over just the past 24 months, TechPoint has launched new programs aimed at:

  • attracting and retaining tech-skilled talent
  • connecting the tech community and amplifying success stories
  • accelerating emerging scaleup companies
  • researching ecosystem needs

Five new technology leaders have also joined the TechPoint board of directors.  They include:

  1. Scott McCorkle, CEO Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  2. Jeff Platon, CMO, Interactive Intelligence
  3. Brad Bostic, Founder and CEO, hc1.com
  4. Mike Klein, Co-CEO, Online Tech
  5. Bryan Everly, CTO, NextGear Capital

After seven years of service, successful tech entrepreneur and investor Mark Hill passes the baton to Kelly Pfledderer for the chairman role.

“Mark Hill has been instrumental in building the foundation for tech success in Indiana,” Pfledderer said. “His contributions to the tech sector will bear fruit for many years to come, and we thank him for ensuring that our state has a promising future as a tech hub and center of innovation.”

“There is no greater opportunity for us here than to increase the pipeline of talent that our rapidly growing tech companies need to grow,” Mark Hill said. “I’m very proud of the  work that TechPoint has done and is doing through critical programs like the Xtern and Xpat programs that are literally shaping the future of our state’s workforce. I’m also excited to see the next generation of leaders like Kelly and Scott stepping into these important leadership roles and carrying the ball ahead.”

Dorsey said he wants to help high-potential tech companies scale up as he did with ExactTarget and that TechPoint is perfectly positioned to develop and implement programs that elevate the entire tech community .

“Helping entrepreneurs create and scale companies here is not only a personal passion but is critically important to the vitality of our city and state,” Dorsey said. “I am pleased to serve on Techpoint’s Executive Committee and help Mike and Kelly take the organization to new heights.”

Kelly Pfledderer is founder and CEO of Apparatus, which was acquired by Virtusa Corporation in April. Pfledderer founded Apparatus in 1999 and has served as CEO of the managed IT solutions company through six consecutive years on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in America list, creation of more than 200 jobs, and last year’s launch of Apparatus’ acclaimed Kore® IT management platform and expansion into 24 new markets nationwide.

Pfledderer currently serves on the board of the Indianapolis Parks Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library, and the Wabash College Board of Trustees.

Scott Dorsey is currently chairman of two nonprofit organizations: Nextech, focused on developing the next generation of high-tech talent; and Indiana Sports Corp, focused on hosting world-class sporting events to fuel economic development, civic pride and youth programming.

He is also chairman of the sales productivity tech company TinderBox, a role he took on in January after leading the meteoric growth of marketing technology leader ExactTarget (now Salesforce Marketing Cloud). Dorsey was CEO of ExactTarget for nearly 14 years from its inception to initial public offering and through its $2.5 billion acquisition by Salesforce.
