TechPoint, the growth accelerator for Indiana’s tech ecosystem, announced new leadership for its board of directors including: Cummins CIO Sherry Aaholm, Genesys President Tom Eggemeier, Ice Miller Partner Eric Goodman, and ANGI Homeservices Chief Customer Officer Angie Hicks.

Scott McCorkle, former chief executive officer of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, recently joined TechPoint as board chair replacing Kelly Pfledderer, founder and former CEO of Apparatus. This additional growth of TechPoint’s board of directors establishes the notion that tech is permeating Indiana’s economic landscape.

Sherry Aaholm is the Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Cummins Inc. She oversees mission critical information system resources and leads the Information Technology transformation for the company. Aaholm brings extensive professional experience in technology, information security, and digital, combined with executive leadership achievements in both public and private business sectors.

In her current role, Aaholm has developed strategic IT and information security plans to address more than 20 years of legacy technology and a footprint of more than 70 different Enterprise Resource Planning installations. In addition, she is responsible to driving the company-wide Digital Transformation, which includes alignment with engineering and human resources to drive digital synergy across the company.

Aaholm joined Cummins in 2013, after more than 15 years at FedEx Services. She served as the Executive Vice President of Information Technology at FedEx, where she drove the IT transformation strategy for the global enterprise to include FedEx Services, FedEx Express, FedEx Freight and FedEx Ground. In this capacity, she was responsible for the daily operations of the global infrastructure footprint, including all data centers worldwide, overall architecture strategy, governance and IT standards. Aaholm previously held roles at GeoLogistics, in Atlanta, Ga. and Schneider National/Schneider Logistics in Green Bay, Wis. 

Aaholm holds a BA in Marketing and Economics, and an MS in Sustainability Management from the University of Wisconsin. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business for Finance for Executives and Strategic Business Leadership. Her work in developing leadership programs has been recognized by Computerworld, and she has spoken at Gartner and Computerworld events on the subject.

Tom Eggemeier is the president at Genesys, a global leader in contact center solutions. He is responsible for all of the company’s customer-facing activities, including global sales, customer success, channel, and field operations.

Prior to his current role, Tom led the Alcatel-Lucent global enterprise sales organization (which included Genesys) with revenue responsibility of approximately $1.8 billion. Previously, Tom held a variety of leadership roles at Alcatel-Lucent, Enterasys Networks, and Compaq in the areas of general management, sales and channels, product management, marketing, corporate communications, and research and development.

Tom holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School, where he has served as a Visiting Committee member, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton.

Eric Goodman is a partner with the Ice Miller’s Business group. He concentrates in corporate and securities law, and his practice is primarily focused on private equity and venture financing transactions, representing start-up and emerging growth companies, securities regulation and general corporate matters.

Eric’s experience includes representing private equity clients in equity and mezzanine investments, leveraged buy-outs, recapitalization transactions and representing both buying and selling companies in merger and acquisition transactions. He assists clients with a variety of equity and debt financing transactions, including raising equity funding from angel investors and venture capitalists and structuring debt. Eric also advises clients with respect to securities law compliance including broker-dealer and investment adviser registration and compensation issues.

Eric earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor in 2003 with a focus in economics. He received his juris doctorate, cum laude, from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and his Master of Business Administration from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Management in 2008.

Angie Hicks is the Chief Customer Officer at ANGI Homeservices. Previously, Ms. Hicks cofounded Angie’s List in 1995 and served both as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer (from May 2000) and on its board of directors (from March 2013).

She earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from DePauw University, which has honored her with a Distinguished Alumni Award for Management and Entrepreneurship and with the Robert C. McDermond Medal for Excellence in Entrepreneurship. In 2009, Ms. Hicks won the Indiana Commission for Women Torchbearer Award for entrepreneurial accomplishments, and in 2014 she was chosen to deliver the annual Hazelett Women in Leadership Forum lecture. In 2016, Ms. Hicks was named the Women Tech Founder of the Year, and in 2017 she received both the TechPoint Trailblazer Award and Harvard Business School’s Alumni Achievement Award.

She serves as an executive sponsor of the Angie’s List Foundation, which focuses on supporting nonprofit organizations operating in the neighborhood of the company’s corporate headquarters on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis. Ms. Hicks is also a co-founder and past board member of The Governor Bob Orr Indiana Entrepreneurial Fellowship Program and a current member of the ANGI Homeservices board of directors.
