The capital markets are still in disarray, still, there are mid-west technology companies poised for expansion and new development. This program will provide a forecast of the availability the full range of capital from sources currently available in the marketplace..

Marcus B. Chandler, a partner in the Indianapolis, Indiana office of Barnes and Thornburg LLP, is chair of the Global Services Practice Group and the Entrepreneurial Services Group. Mr. Chandler counsels growth-oriented businesses throughout the Midwest. A large portion of Mr. Chandler's practice includes acquisitions and sales of businesses, franchising, licensing, joint ventures, and strategic alliances locally and internationally. Mr. Chandler also works with businesses seeking capital, including venture capital, angel capital, and public offerings.

Mr. Chandler represents a number of management teams in leveraged buyouts. Mr. Chandler assists U.S. companies in the creation of distribution networks in China and establishing operations in China and India. He counsels businesses in mergers with and sales to public companies.

Mr. Chandler frequently speaks to business owners and management teams on topics including franchising, international licensing, positioning companies for sale or IPOs, and strategies for raising capital for technology-based companies.

Mr. Chandler graduated magna cum laude in 1976 from DePauw University and received his J.D. from the  University of Chicago in 1979. While at DePauw, Mr. Chandler was a Rechtor Scholar. He was a member of the  University of Chicago Law Review  from 1978 to 1979. Mr. Chandler is a member of the Outstanding Lawyers of America. He is a director and trustee of several Indianapolis arts organizations, including the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the Herron School of Art. Mr. Chandler is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana.
