R&D Product Manager

Brief Summary of Role
Appirio is seeking a talented, experienced and highly motivated Product Manager for our R&D department, which designs and builds the world-class tools that our consultants and customers rely on to manage hundreds of concurrent projects. The Product Manager will be responsible for creating and executing the vision for our Cloud Management Center suite of applications. With frequent Agile release cycles, you will get the satisfaction of seeing the products you manage reach users quickly and positively impact the business. The successful candidate should have experience and background in leading the vision and definition of enterprise-class products.
Work with R&D’s multi-disciplinary team members (Business Analysts, Program Manager, Product Support, Engineering) and Appirio’s diverse practices (CRM, HCM, technology-focused, industry-focused, etc.) to identify and prioritize product enhancements and major new product features.
Translate user and customer needs into feature vision documents and then into Epics and User Stories. Plan and manage Agile release scope to deliver features.
Communicate product vision and release progress internally
Work with our User Experience Designer and Engineering teams on workflows and visual designs that fit cohesively into the platform.
Provide product expertise and guidance to Engineering and QA teams during the development process to further explain use cases and requirements, and keep scope and functionality on target
Work with other members of the functional team to define change management procedures for new features, and assist with messaging of product changes to users and customers
Own the following short- and long-term product planning activities:
Define quarterly and annual application roadmaps
Define and document the vision for major enhancements and new features
Plan phased releases for major features, including an initial Minimum Viable Product release
Prioritize features and user stories
Define and plan for new applications
Own the following release management activities:
Perform functional reviews of development work during Sprint cycles
Review and approve QA test plans
Review and prioritize bugs
Manage scope of regular, frequent Agile releases to meet release objectives
Communicate releases and new features internally and to customers
Education and Required Experience (Requirements)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field
4+ years of Product Management and/or technical project management experience
Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality enterprise and/or consumer-grade applications
Strength in collaborating with a diverse, remotely located team
Experience with bug tracking and project management software
Experience with Agile development methodologies preferred
Strong track record of launching projects and/or products on time
Command of product management principles and product lifecycle processes
Demonstrated ability to manage a release process across teams and departments
Excellent written and verbal skills
Strong presentation, communication and customer-interaction skills; effective consensus-builder
Organized, detail oriented, quality-driven and process-driven.
Experience with multi-tenant cloud-based systems
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast moving and dynamic development environment
