Brief Summary of Role

Appirio R&D designs and builds the world-class products that our 2,000+ employees and 4,000+ customers rely on to manage hundreds of concurrent projects. Our Cloud Management Center (CMC) suite of tools is a powerful differentiator that separates Appirio from other consulting organizations. The UX Designer will play a key role in architecting new user interfaces, applications and user workflows that provide superior Worker and Customer experiences.

Responsibilities: The UX Designer will work remotely and onsite with Appirio employees, customers, Product Management and Product Development teams to create and implement highly usable application interfaces and user workflows. Specific duties include:

Collaborate in the planning, design and development of new applications, and major enhancements to existing applications
Evaluate the usability of new and existing role-based workflows for potential improvements and apply user-centered design principles to create useful, usable and practical application interfaces.
Take a leadership role in creating or contracting a next-generation application look-and-feel for CMC applications, and a UI kit for use by application developers
Participate in workshops and requirement gathering sessions with cross-functional teams including users, customers, Business Analysts and Product Managers to understand user and business goals.
Define information architecture, create screen inventories and users flows for new applications, enhancements to existing workflows and individual pages.
Create designs compatible with Salesforce and the Lightning Design System
Independently research and communicate with users in order to gain actionable insights
Lead presentations of proposed solutions to internal development teams and functional groups, and incorporate feedback into revisions.
Demonstrate knowledge of the Salesforce platform and how custom UI and applications interact with native features
Assist team members with high-quality customer-facing product documentation templates and presentation slide templates
Effectively present complex information and collaborate with multiple team types (Sales & Marketing, Customers, Product Management, Change Management, Development)
Lead remote meetings and conversations via email, voice or GTM
Strong focus on customer satisfaction and enabling user success

Able to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
Able to work independently
Resourceful, self-motivated and able to work as part of a team
Able to travel occasionally (approx 20%)
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Required Experience (Requirements)

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Interaction Design, HCI or related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years experience in User Experience in a mid-large sized organization
Experience working closely with development teams implementing Salesforce custom development preferred
Experience with Agile methodologies preferred
Experience architecting user experiences used by thousands of people daily
Familiarity with Salesforce Lightning Design System desired
Familiarity with common UX tools (Sketch, Axure) desired
Detail oriented, quality driven and possess excellent communication and customer interaction skills
Strong presentation and communication skills
