UX Designer – Indianapolis Office
Who are you?
Your passion is creating great user experiences through user-centered design. You thrive in a cross-functional group of creative, driven, smart professionals who strive to be experts in their field. You understand that a great user experience leads to better brand recognition and repeat customers.
Who are we?
HomeAdvisor and our sister company, Angie’s List, have combined to create the largest Homeservices marketplace in the nation. Part of ANGI Homeservices (ANGI), we connect millions of homeowners across the globe with home service professionals through our innovative and user friendly products. ANGI Homeservices operates 10 brands in eight countries, and is headquartered in Golden, Colo. The UX Designer will sit in our Indianapolis office.
Our UX Designers:
Formulate, establish, and annotate the navigation, functionality, organizational structure and page-to-page flows of our user experience for AngiesList.com and/or HomeAdvisor.com, and through our affiliated sites and mobile applications.
Collaborate with business partners, graphic designers and developers to define the functionality and navigation solutions for various business products
Work with internal and external constituents as the primary point of contact responsible for driving major UX projects from conception to implementation
Stay abreast of advances in user interface (both technical and experiential) and look for ways to appropriately integrate these advances into our products
Communicate designs through fully documented wireframes and prototypes
Express user experience best practices across the company, and mentor colleagues and staff on best-in-class usability concepts
Why we think it’s pretty cool to work here:
What you contribute to our business every day is far more important to us than what time you came to the office this morning or what you’re wearing. We focus on your productivity – if you need 5 minutes to play some ping-pong because it helps you get more done, then by all means, grab a paddle.
We want you to grow – what technology do you want to work with? What responsibilities do you want? You ask, and we’ll let you play.
At HomeAdvisor, we have a progressive “take what you need” paid time-off policy. Instead of accruing vacation and/or sick time, you literally take the time you need to recharge (any reasonable amount of time per year where both your manager can live without you and you’re able to get your work done).
What you need to be successful:
At least 2 years’ experience in user experience design with expertise in interaction design, information architecture, usability engineering, or all three; consulting or agency background a plus
Hands-on experience creating site maps, process flows and wireframes for high traffic consumer sites
Ability to communicate effectively in visual, written and interactive form: design documents, flow charts, prototypes, etc.
Desire to deal with business issues, thinking beyond design
Ability to articulate strategic issues while balancing these with user needs and technological constraints
Experience working in small collaborative teams, including working constructively with development teams
HomeAdvisor is a fast-paced yet laid-back place full of passionate, dedicated people. You know you want to check us out. Send us your resume, and we’ll go from there.
