As part of the Cox Automotive family, NextGear Capital is the industry’s leading comprehensive provider of lending products, providing flexible lines of credit for dealers to purchase New and Used inventory at over 1,000 auto and specialty auctions and other inventory sources throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with applications systems
Detect, diagnose, and report related problems
Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution
Participate in the development of new industry-leading products using our tech stack
Collaborate with other developers on best practices, code reviews, internal tools and process improvements.
Develop custom software applications to support NextGear’s business initiatives by collaborating with your agile team to develop software that helps the organization perform more efficiently and profitably.
Participate and collaborate in cross-team Communities of Practice to leverage shared knowledge and interest across product teams.
Work closely with Product, User Experience (UX), and design teams, as well as other software developers
Contribute back to the open source community where appropriate, and assist with maintaining NextGear’s contributions to Open Source, and to the Indianapolis developer community.
What We Look For:
Bachelor’s Degree; preferably Computer Science major
High energy, confident, ambitious and self-motivated individual
Ability to work on independently and together on multiple projects and be flexible to adapt to changing requirements
Ability to turn high-level requirements into a working system through iterative development
Experience working in an agile environment
Result-oriented ability to respond to a changing business environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with all levels of the organization
