Lead Software Developer/Project Manager
Responsibilities: Serves as lead developer on projects and manages a team of a least ten student interns; mentors the students through the work on the projects and taking on significant design and implementation roles when necessary; provides RHV point of contact for clients and acts as on-going liaison among project sponsors and key stakeholders during critical stages of product development; assists with technical and business evaluations of proposed client projects; provides expertise for industry-related product development projects which includes developing design requirement documents, project plans, prototyping, and testing; serves as a mentor and role-model for student members of project teams which includes promulgation of desirable traits such as a strong work ethic, individual responsibility, and tenacity; procures and coordinates resources as necessary for project success; maintains accountability for all project success factors that are within a reasonable degree of control which includes taking ownership of aspects such as budget, progress, schedule, and scope; remains current with technical areas of expertise.
Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science with four to six years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with two to four years of relevant experience required; sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals in their area of study required, with sound knowledgeable and experience in as many as possible, but not necessarily all, of the following areas: technical project management; leading technical project teams; requirements & scope definition; drafting proposals; planning and scheduling projects; monitoring & tracking projects; new product development; sub-contracting; managing budgets
