Indianapolis based WebLink International received the Tech Sales and Marketing Award during TechPoint’s 16th annual Mira Awards honoring the best of tech in Indiana. WebLink International is the provider of WebLink Connect, the insightful, innovative and easy-to-use association management software.

TCPT_Mira 2015 Badge-WinnerWebLink is a software as a service company that provides membership management solutions to chambers of commerce, trade and professional associations, and more than 650,000 small and medium businesses across North America. WebLink’s comprehensive association solution includes membership management software, responsive website design and development, and the industry’s only credit card reader ready app for iPad.

With a 94 percent retention rate of its own customers, WebLink is recognized as a leader in customer acquisition and retention software for a wide variety of membership-based organizations.

What most struck the judges about WebLink’s story, is that the 18-year-old company essentially reinvented itself in just 18 months in order to capitalize upon significant growth opportunities outside of its previous chambers of commerce sales niche.

In 2012, chambers of commerce sales accounted for 95 percent of WebLink’s revenue. Throughout 2014, 85 percent of WebLink’s new business came from trade and professional associations, which is a market 20 times larger than chambers of commerce.

WebLink achieved this dramatic pivot through rebranding, targeted marketing campaigns and product enhancements, attending and sponsoring association events, and leveraging their existing client base through word of mouth referrals. The company is poised for potentially even greater growth in the future.

TechPoint, Indiana’s tech ecosystem accelerator, honored 15 companies, entrepreneurs and educators on May 2, at the Mira Awards gala presented by BKD CPAs & Advisors. Mira — Latin for miracle and a variable star thousands of times brighter than the Earth’s sun — represents the best of tech in Indiana each year.

Forty-three independent, volunteer judges spent more than 700 collective hours reviewing and ranking the applications, interviewing the nominees and choosing the winners. Judges are primarily subject matter experts and experienced company founders and executives.
