Indy-based Interactive Intelligence Tops Google, Apple, Intel and Many Others in Best Places to Work Awards
Success breeds success, and the greater Indianapolis area has experienced a great deal of success in 2013. In what is hopefully a positive omen for the coming New Year, Interactive Intelligence has received a Glassdoor Employee’s Choice Award as one of the Best Places to Work in the U.S.
Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ), is a global provider of software and services designed to improve the customer experience. The company employs 1,400 people and about half of the workforce is located in Indianapolis. CEO Don Brown founded Interactive Intelligence in 1994. It has more than 5,000 customers worldwide and offices throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. In 2012, Interactive Intelligence received the TechPoint Mira Award for Tech Company of the Year, and CEO Don Brown was recognized for his achievements with the TechPoint Trailblazer in Technology Award.
Glassdoor is a free jobs and career community that offers the world an inside look at jobs and companies. The annual award recognizes the 50 Best Places to Work in the U.S. based solely on the input of employees via Glassdoor’s anonymous online company review survey. Interactive Intelligence was ranked seventh with a 4.3 company rating out of a possible 5.
Notably, Interactive Intelligence topped many other well-known tech or tech-enabled brands including Google (#8), Orbitz (#9), Qualcomm (#13), Intuit (#19), Red Hat (#23), Intel (#33), Apple (#35), Citrix (#38), Texas Instruments (#45), eBay (#49), and Salesforce (#50). The only tech companies that ranked higher than Interactive Intelligence were Twitter (#2), Linkedin (#3), and Facebook (#5).
The 50 Best Places to Work are determined using company reviews shared by U.S.-based employees who elected to participate in the survey between Nov. 14, 2012 and Nov. 12, 2013. The survey asks employees to rate their satisfaction with the company overall, and key workplace factors like career opportunities, compensation and benefits, work/life balance, senior management, and culture and values.
To be considered for the Best Places to Work list, a company must have at least 1,000 or more employees, and have received at least 50 approved company reviews during the window of eligibility. The final list is compiled based on Glassdoor’s proprietary algorithm, and takes into account quantity, quality and consistency of reviews.
