Event Description
Grab your soldering irons and your thinking caps!
The Internet of Things, or IoT, is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and connectivity which enables these objects to connect and exchange data.
Join Centric and Glassboard Product Development for this hands-on workshop at the brand new Indiana IoT Lab in Fishers. We will open with a discussion on IoT industry terminology and trends, the current state of technology, and the tradeoffs that exist within the industry. Following an overview of IoT, you will get the chance to explore, build and demo various IoT-related hardware kits and components.
Workshop participants will be split into teams to build your own internet-connected gameshow buzzers. The event will culminate with a TriviaHQ-style game to test your newfound IoT knowledge that will leave just one team standing!
Lunch is provided and workshop participants will receive an IoT device take-home kit to connect an "Amazon IoT" button to a Slack channel.
Registration is limited to 35. Use TECH5 for $5.00 off admission.
