Event Description
Ascend Indiana and Butler University’s Career and Professional Success office have partnered to host an informative discussion on the current state of demand in the Indiana economy. Geared towards students & higher education faculty and staff, the event will provide the audience with an opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders in the sectors of ag innovation, life sciences, manufacturing & logistics, and technology.
Through presentations, a panel discussion, and open Q&A, representatives from initiatives of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP)--a nonprofit bringing together the leaders of industry, higher education, and philanthropy to advance our region--will highlight potential career pathways for each sector along with the skills necessary to achieve them. This is not a labor market report, but rather a chance to hear from the people working in these sectors day-to-day and to learn how these growing jobs will change over time.
Ascend Indiana Vice President Sally Reasoner will serve as our moderator, and the schedule will occur as noted below. Representing the different sectors will be Melissa Rekeweg, Senior Director of Talent at AgriNovus, Michael Schmierer, Director of Operations at Conexus, Brian Stemme, Project Director at BioCrossroads, and Merillat Flowers, Senior Director of College-to-Career Programs at TechPoint.
