Event Description
On behalf of Women & Hi Tech, you are cordially invited to join us for the first-ever Virtual Leading Light Awards and Scholarship Gala (LLAs) on October 1, 2020, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm (EST).
Historically, this signature, biennial event organized and hosted by Women & Hi Tech has focused on celebrating Indiana women in STEM - women who are risk-takers, leaders, educators, mentors, and those who are changing our local STEM landscape. New this year, the 2020 LLAs will focus on “Equity and Inclusion” in our Indiana STEM community. As such, Women & Hi Tech is excited to provide inaugural award recognition to our equity and inclusion champions, along with our male allies.
Women & Hi Tech will also award over $50,000 in scholarships and grants to women and girls pursuing STEM fields at the 2020 LLAs. This is the highest amount of scholarships and grants awarded in Women & Hi Tech’s history. We are super excited!
Typically, LLAs are held in downtown Indianapolis at the Indiana Roof Ballroom, with 600-700 people in attendance. Given the current pandemic, to keep everyone’s health and safety as the utmost priority, we have decided to host our 2020 Leading Light Awards and Scholarship Gala as a virtual event. While this virtual celebration will look different, we are planning a phenomenal evening of celebrating the excellence, expertise, and “Equity and Inclusion” exemplified by our Indiana STEM community.
