Virtual HALLOWEEN Headband Party!
Hey ghouls and goblins! Join The Startup Ladies for our first ever Halloween Party! Sure, the pandemic gave us the opportunity to feature new hairdos, (and don'ts!), shirts, sweaters, and eyeglasses on Zoom, but we haven't spent any time on headwear! Here's your chance to find and/or design the perfect accessory for your head. Break out your Halloween headbands, hats, wigs and whatever else makes you feel festive.
Whether you're an enthusiastic member or been thinking about learning more about us, this is a great opportunity to take a night OFF from work, dress up, connect with old friends, and make some new ones.
We know that it can be draining to network virtually. So we're making it easy for you to meet new people. Take a look at what we have planned for the evening, then be sure to register. We like to keep things small so that everyone gets to know one another, so if you want to guarantee your spot, please register today.
6:00 pm Welcome & Halloween toast!
6:10 pm Haunted chat rooms - break the ice with your fellow witches and wizards
6:30 pm Scavenger hunt ...you're trapped in your Zoom room and must find a list of spooky objects. Then tell the tales of their meaning. Only 1 scavenger will achieve victory!
7:00 pm Zombie - Last surviving player wins
7:30 pm Halloween headband contest - 3 prize categories: scariest, funniest, most creative (live voting on Facebook)
8:00 pm Wrap up
Where to find a Halloween headband?
If you're the creative type, you probably have a closet full of wigs, hats, costumes, and spooktacular things that can adorn your noggin for the evening. Need some help? Google "Halloween headbands." There are so many cute things out there. There's nothing we love better than something homemade. Anything goes!
What's a party without prizes? We're giving away 5 copies (kindle or hard cover - your choice) of Ursula Burns', "Where You Are Is Not Who You Are: A Memoir." We're reading this and discussing it at our next book club on Wednesday, November 17 from 6-8pm ET. Each book winner will also receive 2 free tickets to join us at book club!
*Please Note: this event is open to the public. Guests will receive a calendar invitation with a Zoom link.
