Event Description
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) received more than 146,000 unemployment claims for the week of March 23. That compares to less than 2,400 two weeks prior. In four days (starting March 30), the department had 210,000 telephone interactions.
Federal legislation is in place to further assist both employers and employees during this crisis. Additional guidance, however, is needed from Washington before all steps can be implemented.
DWD Commissioner Fred Payne and key staff members will take part in a webinar conversation on the coronavirus and to answer your questions. They will provide all the details they can at this time – and let you know what to expect in the coming days and weeks.
Join the Indiana Chamber and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development online on Tuesday, April 7, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT.
In addition, bookmark the Chamber's coronavirus resource page for important information and ongoing updates for business. All webinars and webinar replays can be accessed from that page.
