Full Stack Development – Sr. Consultant(remote/travel)

Brief Summary of Role
The Full Stack Sr. Consultant will act as the Technical Lead on several projects for Appirio, working in conjunction with an Appirio consulting team to build great platform and mobile solutions. The ideal resource has deep understanding of Heroku development, common integration approaches and web services (REST, JSON, SFDC integration) as well as the ability to develop across multiple form factors and frameworks (Responsive Web, API). Experience working with and integrating with Salesforce.com and/or custom mobile applications is a strong plus.
Drive the technical design of Heroku solutions by working with customers to understand their needs.
Act as the technical lead during the design phase, working in conjunction with a Project Manager to create the development plan (Heroku, mobile, SFDC, etc).
Lead a development team to build Heroku & Mobile applications. This includes US and India based developers and running crowdsourced contests using the Topcoder Development Community
Contribute to platform strategy projects by educating customers on options and providing recommendations for platform architecture, coding best-practices, security, integration, add-ons, development process, etc. .
Assist with development tasks when needed – this role will be a mixture of leadership and direct involvement.
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of overall experience in software development, with 3+ years of Full Stack development experience
Experience coaching and mentoring technical team members
Technical acumen to convert business plans into technical solutions that work
Experience with modern development methodologies such as 12 Factor applications, Microservices
Experience building apps, both front-end and back-end
Experience with all aspects of DevOps (source control, continuous integration, deployments, etc.)
Experience working with and delivering projects using Agile methodologies.
Advanced understanding of OO principles and implementation
Strong team player willing to pitch in and do whatever it takes to make our team/customer successful
Professional, accountable, enthusiastic, and confident, with a customer focus
Excellent communication skills with ability to explain ideas very clearly through verbal, graphic, and written communication
Travel 10-50% on average, with some weeks up to 75%
Experience with several of the following technologies:
Node.js, Java, Ruby
Salesforce.com, Salesforce1 mobile app, Apex, Visualforce, Lightning
Android or IOS Mobile Development
Postgres, MongoDB, Heroku Connect
REST web services/JSON structures
Git Version Control with Github or Bitbucket
Salesforce Mobile SDK
