The person hired for the position of Telecommunications Engineer will enjoy a variety of tasks in a great team environment. The primary objective of this position will be to act as a Telecom expert to provide the best solutions for our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Designs and configures IVR and telecommunications systems
-Works with team to determine appropriate configurations of telecommunications hardware and software to ensure the desired performance of telecommunications solutions
-Negotiates with telecom vendors for service contracts.
-Researches, gathers and compiles relevant technical information to champion enhancements of networks and telecommunications systems.
-Interacts with co-workers and vendors to obtain and disseminate information, advice on projects, resolve conflicts, set priorities, coordinate activities, complete projects within time and provide assistance.
-Remains current on job-specific and department topics through training courses, workshops, seminars, professional organizations, professional publications, etc. to apply appropriate policies and technologies to assigned systems.
-Maintains and analyzes telecommunications equipment inventory.
-Creates manuals for use by system users to provide information needed to operate assigned telecommunications equipment and systems.
-Coordinates and inspects the work of vendors, service providers, contractors, subcontractors.
-Monitors assigned telecommunications systems to assess need for updates, upgrades, enhancements, preventive maintenance and/or new systems.
-Performs other duties as assigned by management.

-Experience with Cisco networking equipment
-PMP designation an asset
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
-Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented
-Ability to create, maintain and update schedules and trackers
-Excellent time management and organizational skills with a strong track record of achieving goals and objectives within tight time frames
-Experience with project management and scheduling software and other tools for tracking, reporting and analyzing progress
-Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines on a timely basis
-Strong sense of ownership required for project completion
-Experience troubleshooting telecommunications hardware issues
-Experience working with vendors and telecommunication carriers
-Experience troubleshooting basic network problems
