Job Description

Butler University’s Information Technology department has an outstanding opportunity available for a Project Manager. As a Butler IT Project Manager, you will be able to grow and fine tune your leadership skills and expand your professional background and experiences by directing and managing a variety of medium- to large-scale, high-visibility projects. You will collaborate with Business Relationship Managers, IT executives, and campus leaders on various initiatives to deliver business value and advance the University's strategic mission and goals. Primary Responsibilities

Direct, plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously by employing the appropriate project management framework (predictive, agile, hybrid) and tools to create the best path to meet the intended business value and goals.

Create and direct overall project management plans while managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality, and promote the health of the project throughout its lifecycle.

Build and develop project teams to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation

Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.

Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met

Establish and maintain relationships with project stakeholders by providing updates on project status and changes

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred; degree in computer science, business or related technical field and applicable professional certifications a plus. PMP certification preferred.

3-5 years of relevant project management experience required; 3-5 years of managing IT projects preferred

Strong experience with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices

Proven ability to complete projects through the full lifecycle according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

Strong interpersonal and analytical skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail.

Confident self-starter, capable of managing work and making decisions independently.

Experience working in a complex, matrix environment that requires flexibility and adaptability

Hybrid work environment – remote and on-campus weekly schedule
