The Team
The Platform Development Team is a talented team of experienced developers working together to solve technology problems. Our Power Platform Engineers at DeveloperTown work on many different intriguing projects, have a broad range of experience and love technical challenges. As a collaborative team, individual Engineers are able to have a significant impact on the project, the team, and our clients.
The Position
Senior Engineers at DeveloperTown require little direct guidance but have an eagerness to collaborate and share ideas. This position requires a sufficient level of experience, a passion for solving IT problems, and a desire to overcome technical challenges.
You’ll be able to:
Design and develop Microsoft 365 applications and solutions: Power Automate (Flow), Power Apps, Power BI, Dynamics 365, SharePoint Online
Develop, configure, and implement Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate (Flow) to drive efficiencies, system integration, and data integrity.
Provide guidance and recommendations around all aspects of Microsoft Power Platform tooling:
Licensing and how capacity is assigned and consumed
Standard vs Premium connectors
Microsoft 365 security and security of Power Apps users
Dataverse security role definition
Determination of Model-driven vs. canvas apps based on business requirements
Multiple environment best practices
Dynamics 365 relationship to Power platform
Data modeling within Dataverse
Reporting best practices regarding Dataverse vs. reporting data repository
Pivot to learn additional Low Code and RPA platforms
Analyze business requirements by collaborating with the stakeholders and our team, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes
Perform software design using software development fundamentals and processes, debug, test, and deploy software solutions
Implement custom solutions that leverage various Microsoft 365 services
Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, etc.
Apply knowledge of enterprise application development and intranet best practices to drive improvements
Learn and build custom connectors
Assume additional responsibilities as assigned/required
Develop Power Automate workflows for backend processing
Understand the difference between transactional and reporting data repositories
Understand the performance optimization with on-premises data vs Dataverse
Design intuitive user interfaces (graphic design not necessary)
Have some experience/exposure to Power BI reporting
You should be familiar with:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2+ years’ experience OR Master’s degree in an area with 0-2 years experience
2+ years of experience building Microsoft 365 solutions including Power Automate (Flow), Power Apps, Power BI, Dynamics 365, and SharePoint Online.
Experience in Power Apps and can develop, configure and implement Power Apps and Power Automate (Flow) to drive efficiencies, system integration, and data integrity.
Knowledge of building web parts, apps, page layouts, and content types using the M365 API.
Azure DevOps or other source control management tools.
JavaScript, jQuery, Web Services, HTML5, and CSS3.
Various design frameworks.
SharePoint’s application services framework including implementation, and configuration.
SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and/or SQL Server Integration Services a plus
Being motivated, independent, and self-sufficient. Able to receive an assigned task and see it through to completion with minimal supervision
Being a quintessential team player and a highly skilled communicator
Having excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
Nice to haves:
Power BI report generation, SharePoint Online and/or Teams
Ability to configure and maintain SharePoint site collections, document libraries, lists, and site pages.
*This is a hybrid opportunity and will require onsite work at the DeveloperTown office.
