NOTE TO CANDIDATES: In response to the Coronavirus ( COVID-19 ) pandemic, we have suspended all in-person interviewing. However, we are optimistic that the situation will be resolved and that life will largely return to normal. As such, only candidates residing in the central Indiana area who could reasonably commute to the office will be considered.

EarthWave Technologies is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our agile organization that is dedicated to delivering a high-quality product and ensuring that it meets and exceeds client expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for you to make your mark in a fast-paced and growing telematics software company.

This role will report to the Director of Software Quality Assurance. As a QA Engineer, you will review functional requirements and user stories
from internal stakeholders, design test plans, write test cases, oversee test strategies and perform testing for assigned applications. Our ideal candidate would have a combination of business acumen and technical expertise to allow them to grow into a quality expert on a complex full-stack application and contribute to automation, performance and/or integration testing.

Note: This role will currently work remotely as COVID-19 restrictions exist, but requires the SQA Engineer to be physically present in our Indianapolis office on a regular/daily basis when the office re-opens.

What You'll Do

Be a strong quality advocate, collaborating closely with software engineers and the product manager to release powerful products
Design and deliver risk-based test plans for new features and functionality, choosing the right method of testing for each situation or phase (scenario, exploratory, automated, etc.)
Pair with software engineers to identify and prevent gaps with automation/regression coverage and even build frameworks
The Skills You Need to Be Successful

Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
Experience writing test plans, test cases, documenting defects and troubleshooting
Experience with web service and mobile testing
2-3 years of professional experience with software testing a plus
Experience working in an Agile environment and using tools such as Jira
Demonstrated ability to operate on a small team in a fast-paced environment with the ability to change directions as priorities shift
Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn, grow professionally and have a positive impact on the company, its culture and products
Database fundamentals, with MariaDB and MySQL experience favored
Experience in full-stack end to end testing (REST API, Database) is desirable
Working knowledge of Docker Compose and PyCharm a plus
Experience creating automated test scripts with Selenium and Python a plus
Experience with GIT and GitLab workflows a plus
