EarthWave Technologies is looking for a Technical Business Analyst to going the Engineering Team within our agile organization that is dedicated to delivering a high-quality product and ensuring that it meets and exceeds client expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for you to make your mark in a fast-paced and growing telematics software company.
This role will report to the CTO. As a Technical Business Analyst, you will work closely with Software Engineers, Customer Success, Sales, and customers to understand, document, refine, and plan changes and enhancements to EarthWave Technologies' core product FleetWatcher, and related apps. In this role, you will meet with stakeholders, document requirements, review functional requirements, write user stories based on information provided by internal and external stakeholders. Our ideal candidate would have a combination of business acumen and technical expertise to allow them to grow into an expert on our complex full-stack application.
Note: This role will currently work remotely as COVID-19 restrictions exist, but require the Technical Business Analyst to be physically present in our Indianapolis office on a regular/daily basis when the office re-opens. Additionally, when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, occasional travel to meet with customers or attend industry events may be required.
What You'll Do
Review and manage incoming customer-requests including creating user stories based on stakeholder input.
Review and manage incoming escalations to the engineering department. Gather details, document issues, and
Manage customer-specific software engineering projects including managing meetings with customers
Interview internal and external (customer) stakeholders to gather and record requirements and requests for new projects
Work with Engineering leadership and senior engineers to understand and document technical requirements and constraints and then work with stakeholders to align desired functionality with design parameters.
Work with UI/UX experts to align stakeholder requests with UI/UX design.
Monitor projects and communicate issues that may cause the work to be delayed or the scope to change.
Present to internal and external stakeholders on new features that you managed.
The Skills You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer science, Software Engineering or equivalent preferred
Experience with the software development process including web-based and mobile applications
Experience working in an Agile environment and using tools such as Jira
Demonstrated ability to operate on a small team in a fast-paced environment with the ability to change directions as priorities shift
Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn, grow professionally and have a positive impact on the company, its culture and products
Database fundamentals, with MariaDB and MySQL experience favored
