WHAT YOU WILL DO
Monitor the system backup software and insure that the jobs are successfully completing during the established ServiceLevel designation.
Set up backup jobs for the various platforms and work with the system administrators to test and verify the jobs complete successfully.
Maintaining the backup storage devices and insure the replication is completing in a timely manner.
Managing and monitoring backup solutions on “cloud” platforms and provide guidance on implementing solutions in this environment.
Restore requests that are generated, which includes training operations on completing the restores.
Responsible for upgrades of the backup environment for both software and hardware.
Maintain the vendor relationships necessary to keep abreast of the technology.
Manage the deployment of software onto clients as needed.
Monitor and maintain Veritas Enterprise Vault archiving environment. This will include troubleshooting issues when files fail to unarchive and performing mass file unarchiving if requested/required.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
Knowledge of configuring, installing, and supporting the functions, features and facilities of multi-user
operating systems that manage network resources.
Knowledge of practices, legal considerations and management of software licensing processes.
Knowledge of tools and techniques for design, development and support of Client/Server applications.
Adapt to high volume and high stress areas.
Knowledge of and experience with planning and executing a software platform change with minimal
disruption of service to the client.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Critically evaluate and analyze information.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
