Genesys is looking for an experienced and self- motivated candidate to join us as a Senior Software Engineer on a Workforce Engagement Management (WEM) development team.
You will be responsible for development of AWS cloud-based microservices and components used to deliver cutting edge communication products. You will work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for continuous change, innovation, and experimentation. WEM innovates in domains like scheduling, forecasting, secure long-term storage of data, form builders, speech analytics, machine learning, data science, and reporting.
Successful candidates will

Recommend new technologies as components of a solution when appropriate

The ideal candidate would also have experience with some of the following:
Amazon Web Services (Dynamo, S3, SQS, SNS, etc.)
Java or JVM languages (Kotlin/Clojure)
Experience with other languages and UI/UX design is a plus.
Experience with Unix operating environments (Linux, macOS) and REST APIs
5+ years of experience in software development (advanced degrees or other experience will be considered)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
Experience with the full application lifecycle from development through deployment and support
Demonstrable understanding of scalability and availability in distributed systems
Excellent critical thinking and reasoning; must effectively communicate with peers across development groups and business units
Communicates regularly with colleagues and management.
