We’re seeking an innovative and collaborative Associate Systems Administrator who will become part of a dynamic team responsible for the 24x7 uptime of the hc1.com platform and its related services. As part of our Technical Operations team, you will work closely with senior leadership, software engineering and architecture to continue to build and maintain world-class infrastructure.
You will be responsible for assisting with building infrastructure and high-availability systems in addition to working closely with software engineering to bring our application to that infrastructure through continuous integration. There are also opportunities to enhance our local technological footprint utilizing new evolving technologies along with existing standard help-desk procedures.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Perform routine maintenance, backups and health checks on database systems
Assist in local technological footprint maintenance and support
Investigate and prepare recommendations to the Operations Team on new technologies.
Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues our users encounter
Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
Create and verify backups of data
Respond to and resolve help desk requests
Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes, including on-call rotation
Review application logs
Install and test computer-related equipment
YOUR BACKGROUND SHOULD INCLUDE:
4-year degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work familiarity
1-2 years of Linux/Unix Administration
Ability to work with minimal supervision and self start projects
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Familiarity administering and monitoring cloud-based infrastructures
Familiarity with modern configuration standardization and deployment tools
Familiarity serving in a dynamic team environment with gradual on-call responsibilities
Familiarity with at least one modern scripting language (Python, Java, etc)
Proficiency supporting local technology stacks and user platforms (ie Windows 10, Mac OS, telephony systems)
