We are seeking a results-driven Financial Controller at Moxtra, Inc., to help oversee the Company’s accounting and finance operations. The role is based in Indianapolis, IN, reporting to the CFO, with ties to our Corporate Headquarters in Cupertino, CA, and support from and with our Business Ops Team in India.
If you are looking for an opportunity to build an accounting and finance function from the foundation, in the adrenaline-rich environment of a game-changing SaaS technology company, then we would like to have a conversation with you.
At Moxtra, we help businesses deliver client experiences for the digital age. Today we provide hundreds of organizations with solutions to build and manage high-touch digital channels to their customers, under their own brand. Our goal each day is to reduce the friction and inefficiencies of managing multiple disparate channels of client engagement, including the chaos of email, to fast-track our customers’ high value business. We are on a mission to re-define what “e-business” is really all about.
We are a team that respects creative thinking, self-awareness, and all-in collaborative effort, where everyone carries their weight and celebrates the success of our colleagues and clients. We are obsessed with enriching our customers’ business client-relationship experience.
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for developing and building our accounting function (including SaaS revenue recognition, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activities). You will help design our business control posture and develop related policies, as well as support the financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities for Management.
This is a build-from-the-base opportunity, with a fair amount of white space to fill. It is a roll-up-the-sleeves environment: there will be bottles to wash, a full commercial kitchen to help design…and everything in between. No two days will be the same. And through it all you will get to have a direct impact on building a market-defining tech company.
Why do we want to talk to YOU?
As someone who fully appreciates and understands that accounting is the ‘language of business’, you are passionate about doing the right things the right way. You are obsessed with understanding the details but keep sight of the business ‘big picture’. You go beyond just looking at the numbers and seek to understand what the drivers of those same numbers are. You thrive on creative problem-solving…with absolute integrity.
In addition to being organized and proactive, you have very good business judgement, with an aptitude for understanding the business model, what it is and where it is heading. You have the written and verbal communication skills to successfully interact with a variety of people, in a variety of roles, across a variety of business functions. In appreciating the time of others, you pursue process where it makes sense, and go lightly where it does not. You think ‘outside of the box’… but always remember The Box.
You have an energetic enthusiasm for systems and tools, knowing that process comes first and helps define the right tool. You recognize that tech is a constantly changing environment but, by being open to the change, Finance and Accounting can provide a reliable touchstone for the organization.
You are passionate about building teams and developing the individual members of those teams. You always look to lead from the front and your team members will always look for another opportunity to work with and learn from you. And through it all, you know that having a genuine sense of humor makes all the difference.
The role of Financial Controller at Moxtra is to provide leadership for the accounting and finance functions, ensuring the Company tracks its business results with the utmost reliability and integrity, and protecting the assets of the organization.

The Controller will work across all geographies, including leveraging and building an accounting support team in India.
As a leader of Team Finance this role will help with the tracking and analysis of our ‘business scorecard’, working with the business leadership across the organization, supporting the broad product development and go-to-market activities of the company. The Accounting and Finance team will provide senior leadership with the ability to understand current results, as well as anticipate and plan for future moves.
The Financial Controller will evaluate and implement a comprehensive accounting and finance tool set that will allow for a full consolidation of global activities (including operations in China, EMEA, India, and Singapore) and subsequent analysis.
