Job Summary/Basic Function: This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive residential life program. Support the Academic success of students residing in on-campus living and learning communities. This includes the development and implementation of an intentionally sequenced Residential Curriculum that focuses on the integration of academic and life-skills to prepare students for integration into their careers and communities, post-graduation. Area coordinators provide instruction and support as practitioner-scholars around areas of academic success skills, self-awareness (identify and values development, strengths identification, career exploration, spiritual development) and social responsibility (digital citizenship, community engagement, communicating across different, global competencies, etc.). They utilize StarRez and Roompact to become acquainted with all residents to establish positive relationships. Serve as instructors in the first-year social justice courses and/or for-credit student leadership development course. Provide instruction and develop experiential learning experiences related to career readiness for graduate assistant residence hall directors enrolled in the Student Affairs/Higher Education master’s program. Service as practicum supervisors for SAHE graduate students. Instruct all students in skills around conflict mediation; communicating across difference, community engagement and responsibilities, and global awareness through tasks associated with Student Conduct and Integrity, Academic Advising, Career Preparation, and Experiential Learning goals. Provides supervision and administrative support to professional, graduate, and undergraduate student staff. Provides administrative and building support related to occupancy management, facilities management, and after-hour calls/emergency response. Sits on university, division, and unit committees that develop strategies to support the learning and success of all residential students at Indiana State University through academic, co-curricular, and experiential learning initiatives.
Required Education and Experience: Master's Degree; 2 years post-master's experience.
Certificates/Licenses and Registrations: Must possess a valid driver's license.
