We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing business intelligence team in our product organization. As the first in our business intelligence professional services team, you’ll have the opportunity to pioneer our business intelligence professional services offering with the support of your peers and manager. This is a customer-facing role where you will spend a significant amount of your time on video calls, phone calls, email, and Slack interacting with customers and internal teams. The majority of this role’s remaining time will be spent building custom reports from those conversations with SQL and Sisense.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience in business intelligence and analytics for a B2B SaaS software product, including 1+ years working as a data designer in Sisense. Consulting or other client-facing delivery experience is preferred. The Business Intelligence Analyst will report to the Director, Business Intelligence.
Roles & Responsibilities
Partner with the account management and professional services teams to address customers’ reporting needs and develop a technical engagement and delivery plan to make customers’ successful and happy with their Lessonly by Seismic products
Commit to and deliver solutions within an agreed upon turnaround time
Excellent people, listening, and communication skills
Experience with training and/or public speaking
Ability to have difficult conversations with customers and internal teammates on the feasibility and timeline of solutions
Ability to write, improve, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, potentially in front of and/or with customers
Run your own projects and define your delivery methods
Create insightful, intuitive, and polished reports and visualizations for our customers
Train customers to be as self sufficient as possible
Currently, we are using Metabase to provide reports to our customers, but we will be transitioning to Sisense with embedded analytics in our platform and giving some customers direct access to our data warehouse, Snowflake
While this position is largely providing customized analytics solutions to our customers, some more expansive knowledge around ETL/ELT, APIs, and data tech stacks is desirable to enable customers to connect to our data as seamlessly as possible
Broad knowledge of prominent data-oriented software solutions
Ability to write requirements documentation and discover the customers’ “why”
Provide strong opinions to inform the in-app reporting roadmap
Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders cross-functionally
Clean and intuitive coding practices
Ability to take ownership of projects and operate with a high degree of autonomy in a distributed working environment
Ability to document your work and enable teammates and customers
Ability to identify and reduce reporting redundancies
Ability for limited travel (company events and potentially to customers)
