Position Summary:
myCOI’s Partnerships Business Development Director role is responsible for the acquisition and management of key individual and firm relationships to deliver program and portfolio growth primarily through insurance agents/brokers. The goal is to increase revenue growth through the acquisition of new referral partners, and developing partnerships at the broker and practice leader levels of the top 75 commercial brokerage firms. This person will establish contacts and relationships with potential partners, and invite and onboard the partner to the myCOI Valued Partner Program before transitioning the relationship to the Partner Manager. Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
Accountable for partnership program performance and profitability for moderate to complex partnerships. Utilize consultative business development skills to identify growth opportunities and develop portfolio and partnership strategies to drive business results, builds trusted advisor relationships.
Work collaboratively with myCOI's resources to define the approach and strategy for achieving partnership and program expectations. Utilizes marketing, products, services, and distribution channels across myCOI to expand the existing program, deepen relationships, and optimize growth.
Identify and assess sponsorships and event activation opportunities with partners, which may include attending and participating in industry and/or partner conferences, and representing myCOI in a professional, well-informed manner.
Partner with the Marketing department to provide partner expertise and input to develop effective marketing plans. Gain an understanding of marketing desired in order to optimize integrated marketing plans and drive results. .
Works with Partner and Marketing leadership to identify areas of SWOT, and brings forth ideas on how to capitalize, counter, address, communicate, and mitigate.
Consults with relevant functions like Marketing, Sales, IT, and Product on building competitive product offerings and services that will meet the needs of our customers.
Serve as a role model to, and assist in training of newer Partner Team members.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Prior experience as a broker or account manager/executive in a top commercial brokerage firm, commercial insurance wholesaler or underwriter with partnerships business development responsibilities
Overall deep experience in complex B2B or B2B2C partnerships business development and execution
Ability to share successful partnerships execution examples during the interview process (# of partnerships, revenue generated, your impact on partnerships development in current or prior roles, etc.)
A general understanding of the commercial insurance sales process (strong understanding preferred)
Ability to thrive, adapt, and re-prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Must be self-motivated and organized
Exceptional people skills – including skills required to build and maintain excellent client relationships
General comfort with technology (Salesforce, gmail, G-suite, virtual meetings, etc.)
Outstanding written and oral communication
