Responsible for leading collaborative groups to find innovative solutions to drive business value, mentors team resources and cross functional peers. Expected to formulate and implement changes to OneAmerica’s frameworks to meet changing business objectives. Responsible for the oversight of OneAmerica IT Infrastructure and acts as a primary point of contact for IT Infrastructure services escalations. Acts as a liaison to the IT application development organization and OneAmerica business units for Infrastructure services and provides technical consultation and service support. The Lead will be assigned to complex projects that require a great deal of detail for successful implementation and oversight.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Manage and resolve critical situations through effective communication with OneAmerica business units, IT project teams, IT operations and IT service provider(s).
Oversee operational budget and assist with annual budget exercise.
Serve as escalation point and provide troubleshooting guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex Infrastructure issues.
Develop and maintain the overall Infrastructure roadmap
Work closely with the Service Delivery Managers (SDM) and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure day-to-day activities align with overall Infrastructure roadmap
Focus on consistent execution and delivery excellence of projects to the organization.
Design and implement end-to-end infrastructure solutions across multiple disciplines including, compute, network, storage and other Infrastructure related towers
Place a focus on technical debt elimination as well as preventing new technical debt as outcomes of project implementations.
Engage in architectural discussions and lead direction from an infrastructure standpoint
Lead IT Operational troubleshooting.
Required Education and/or Certifications
Bachelor’s degree (BS, BA), Computer Technology, related technical discipline, or equivalent 10 years’ professional technical experience
Recommended Education and/or Certifications
Master’s in business administration or a Computer Technology / Engineering field given additional consideration.
Certifications in multiple disciplines preferred: Examples include: CCNA, MCSE, A+, Cloud Related.
Cloud based certifications give additional consideration
ITIL v3 Foundation certification along with other technical certifications given additional consideration.
Required Work Experience
10 years industry experience in an lead engineering role.
8 years of experience in three of the technical areas listed above
2 years Cloud / Hosted / SaaS solutions experience required.
Experience with COBIT v5, IT Service Management (ITSM), ITIL v3, and continuous improvement including Lean and Six Sigma.
Experience with SSAE16 (i.e., SOC1) compliance requirements and management.
The Engineer Sr should have a strong technical background in Networking with some experience in Cloud networking infrastructure. Preferred experience with the following technical areas: VOIP/Voice related technologies, Firewall & IPS, and monitoring & automation tools.
Experience with IT project management and architectural processes.
Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
