Job Description

We are looking for a People and Culture Payroll Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for all payroll and related responsibilities working closely will employees and managers across the organization as well as specifically interfacing with the accounting, finance, and People and Culture functions.

This position will report to the Manager, People Technology & Operations, and will assist with other HR related duties, as needed.

Candidate Responsibilities:
-Be able to demonstrate the ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects while meeting goals and deadlines, with a strong customer service orientation and good attention to detail.
-Responsible for the payroll processing and administrative functions to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payrolls for biweekly multi-state payroll for approximately 200+ full-time employees and 400+ part-time and seasonal employees.
-Supply reporting to department heads upon request.
-Manage and maintain the general ledger accounts in the payroll system and coordinate regular reporting and updates with accounting.
-Effectively prioritize to ensure compliance and accurate record keeping and ensure payroll is processed in compliance with multi-state wage and hour laws.
-Establish withholding and unemployment accounts with new states as needed.
-Assist with Monthly and Year End Reporting as needed.
-Manage unemployment claims.
-Assist with government filings such as EEO-1, Workers Compensation, and 5500's

What you already know and skills you bring:
- 2 to 3 years payroll or relevant experience
-Knowledge of multi-state payroll withholding and unemployment taxes
-General HR knowledge
-Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to adhere to deadlines
-Strong accuracy and attention to detail
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs – proficiency with Excel is a must
-Team player and a positive attitude, and persistence to execute on projects
-Ability to research and resolve complex issues
-Demonstrated ability to use discretion with sensitive information
-Adapts positively to continuous change
