The Role

The Data Scientist is responsible for gaining insights from all the data captured by PERQ's AI based web engagement software products by applying statistical modeling, machine learning, and analytical techniques. This individual will work as part of a high performing, collaborative team of Product Managers, Data Engineers, and other Data Scientists to build predictive models used to optimize the performance of PERQ's software. You will use the behavioral and consumer data captured by PERQ's AI engine coupled with the sales data provided by PERQ's customers to build propensity to buy predictive models as well as recommendation engines. You will also be involved in building causal models that help understand the drivers of desired business outcomes. The output of your work will be used in real time in the software to optimize a user's experience with the software.

Investigate and analyze data to detect real insights
Build data models using the latest techniques, algorithms, and platforms
Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
Work closely with Software Engineers and Product Managers to integrate the results of your analysis into an AI-based software product
Actively participate in cross functional design discussions and code reviews
Document and communicate the results of your analysis
Provide recommendations based on the outcomes of your analysis
Stay current on the data science tools, methods, and processes to make recommendations on how they can be applied to PERQ's products, data, and engineering practices
The Ideal Candidate:

1+ year(s) of experience building predictive models
Ability to create causal models
Completed or are pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in data science or other equivalent degree or training
Expertise in machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
Expertise in using statistical programming languages, such as Python or R
Expertise in SQL and querying databases efficiently
Knowledge of research methodology and causal inference a plus
Experience with an Agile SCRUM delivery methodology is a plus
