Our Product Team
The Product Engineering Team at Renaissance includes both Product Development and Product Management aspects of the business. We utilize principles of agility (with a small “a”) and collaboration to build the best possible products for our customers. We have flexible work hours and strive to do what makes sense. We also have a Fun as a Service (FaaS) committee to help plan departmental outings, swag, team building events, etc. We love working together to change the world one tooth at a time.
A little about the role
As a Product Designer at RES, you’ll work as part of the Product Engineering team to conceptualize, design and deliver product and features. RES delivers commercialized products to Dentist Offices and Dental Insurance companies including our web-based platform called rPractice.
You will be involved in end-to-end in the product design process including creation of design concepts, developing interactive prototypes, devising and conducting experiments, and delivering applications that create measured value for our users.
What you’ll be doing
Create thoughtful and appropriate solutions to product design challenges by translating product vision into functional user interfaces.
Work as part of our Product Engineering Team to collaborate with our other departments and stakeholders in an iterative, transparent, and feedback driven process.
Produce product designs using sketches, storyboards, information architecture blueprints, and prototypes to collect feedback and iteratively improve and support the design process.
Translate wireframes and experiences into high res or click through artifacts that can be used to inform the development process.
Create user flows, wireframes, site maps, customer journey maps, and other tools to guide the product development process.
Collaborate with product management and engineers to conceptualize, document, design, and develop new product concepts including user story creation and being involved through the entire development lifecycle.
Work with engineers and product team to oversee product design implementation, while also serving as an advocate for design in strategic product decisions.
Develop comprehensive annotated design specifications and functional documentation for our engineering team.
Work with product engineering team to help develop reusable UI components and UI standards.
Skills we expect you to have
A proven track record of user interface design, across a number of products that have been used by different demographics.
Experience with prototyping and taking a product from the idea stage through to launch and beyond.
Ability to take the product’s mission, user research and analytics data and translate into clear, simple product designs.
Strong knowledge of current web application UX best practices, including user research and accessibility across mobile and web.
Proficient in Design Tools (Balsamiq, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design tools).
You have a portfolio of product design work that you’re proud to share with us.
You have excellent written communication skills, know how to receive and deliver constructive criticism, and work well in a collaborative team environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical or Business Field
3 - 5 years of experience designing software solutions
Visual Design skills a plus
Product Management or Product Owner experience a plus
Experience with front-end web technologies preferred (HTML, CSS, JS)
