Job Description

Seven Corners is seeking a motivated Business Intelligence Engineer to assist with existing reporting and data needs, while facilitating the move to Microsoft’s latest BI platform for data modeling and presentation. This position involves project work in our production SQL databases, including generally updating statements and ad hoc reporting. What you already know and have done: -Gather and document functional and technical requirements, and translate requirements into reporting solutions, analytic tools, and dashboards -Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business uses of data -Create simple to complex data and reporting solutions by leveraging the Microsoft BI stack including Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services -Assist in the design and development of ETL solutions in development of Data Warehouse Analytics -Develop key operational, financial and customer centric dashboards, metrics, and reports -Work with software engineers to assist in the creation of reports and meaningful data analysis for end users -Support end-user community in the use of business intelligence tools to query databases and files for report outputs -Provide support as required to ensure the availability and optimized performance of developed reports and dashboards for both external and internal users -Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner -Develop and manage effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced -Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Ideally you have: -Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related discipline -3 to 5 years of related work experience -1 to 3 years experience with T-SQL or MSSQL -Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Services including SSRS, SSAS, SSIS -Experience with Microosoft PowerBI -Experience with Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, or Azure Logic Apps -Growing understanding of SSAS data models, stored procedures, user defined functions, MDX/DAX, and Power View/PowerPivot -Understanding of data analysis and looking patterns, data modeling, data quality, and ETL -Strong detail-orientation and excellent analytical and problem solving skills -Desire to enhance development skills and research alternatives to accomplish tasks and drive innovation -Positive interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to listen, ask probing questions, and ensure accurate understanding of internal client needs -Ability to function independently and within an agile team Seven Corners hires for culture fit over technical skills and experience.
