Marketing Automation Specialist
The Marketing Automation Strategist will be the owner of the back-end automation platforms within Marketing, with the focused goal of increasing Marketing’s contribution of activity to the Sales pipeline.
The primary system to accomplish this goal is Salesforce Marketing Cloud. By necessity, there will be crossover with various teams in the company for sharing data access with Sharpen’s Salesforce.com instance. This will include discovery of our current methodology, recommending applicable best-practices, and (when necessary) engineering ways to reconcile any unique issues that may arise. This position will also be the primary resource for all automated email activity, including monitoring and ensuring compliance, recommending best practices for email creation, and the creation & management of email campaigns.
Other systems in the purview of the Marketing Automation Strategist will include our company website, and Google Analytics. The website is to be used for attracting and inviting new users for Sharpen, and Google Analytics is our way of gathering activity data, and making decisions for creatively addressing our viewing public. These systems may require varying levels of hands-on work, as well as working with other team members to complete projects.
Your target audiences are our potential partners/end users, others within the telecom industry, and the media. You’ll also work with our Design and Dev teams to get projects accomplished that are outside of your scope of abilities (i.e. coding websites or projects and pieces that require design work). It will be important for this person to build and strengthen relationships within the industry in order to gain access to local and regional opportunities to further expand our brand recognition and client base.
Success will initially be managed by increasing the amount of activity Marketing puts into the Sales pipeline. Longer-term, that focus will evolve into increasing ROI for paid activities, refining methods for finding potential buyers, and brainstorming creative ways to address the public.
Education & Experience:
Knowledge of basic public and new media relations with solid research, writing and editing skills.
Proven experience in strategy, management, implementation and analytics tracking of social media, website and digital assets.
Experience with marketing and advertising principles, tactics and research.
Basic grasp of sales/business development.
Passion for branding, marketing and all things telecom.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
