Job Description


The Lead, Software Engineer is a leader with strong experience in solution design, development, and deployment. The incumbent is responsible for the strategy and development of innovative solutions to support both new development initiatives and improvement to existing solutions. They contribute to the design of deployment architectures including on-premise, private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid. This role must work cohesively with other technical staff members as well as functional and quality assurance leads. They will be required to present to senior IT and business personnel.


The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Provide technical expertise and leadership to project teams in the analysis, design, and development of business applications
Contributes a perspective that spans the disciplines of software development, solution design, and project management
Manages design and development of innovative solutions to business requirements and provide strategic technical direction and thought leadership
Leverages previous leadership experience to coach and mentor other IS personnel
Provide strategy and design for integrating disparate business systems
Communicate clearly and effectively with business users and teams through all phases of the development life cycle
Evaluates application software packages and makes recommendations to management. Perform feasibility studies, and buy vs. build analysis
Maintains knowledge of the latest data technology and best practices
Facilitate technical design and design review sessions, and create presentations mapping business goals to technical designs

Minimum of 10 years IT experience with a background in a variety of disciplines
Role model with strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
Strong team building skills in fast paced environment
Analytical and process oriented
Experienced in design and development with Java and JavaScript frameworks (i.e. Angular and React)
Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle with the ability to using either a waterfall or agile methodology
Knowledge of solution integrations approaches (i.e. API, Messaging, point-to-point, SOA, etc.)
Ability to manage multiple projects and set appropriate priorities
Ability to analyze compliance deficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions
Experience with internal controls, risk assessments, and internal IS control testing
Experience with secure coding practices
Experience using continuous integration, automated testing, application performance management tools, and other DevOps tools
Experience developing and executing unit tests
Experience with deployment architectures using VMs and container technology
Experience with both On-Premise and Cloud Platform solution design and implementation
Knowledge of system design, application architecture, and open-source frameworks
Experience with SQL and structured databases as well as NoSQL
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field from an accredited university or college
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to work on cross functional teams, multitasking and managing time independently with little direction
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
