Job Description

Primary Purpose

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer that can bring strong experience in solution design, development, and deployment to our Business Applications department. You will be responsible for the strategy and development of solutions to support both new development and improving our existing solutions. You will work cohesively with other technical staff members as well as leading presentations to senior IT and business personnel.

Principal Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise and leadership to project teams in the analysis, design, and development of business applications
Contribute to the design of deployment architectures including on-premise, private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid.
Manages the design and development of innovative solutions to business requirements and provide strategic technical direction and thought leadership
Provide strategy and design for integrating disparate business systems
Communicate clearly and effectively with business users and teams through all phases of the development life cycle
Facilitate technical design and design review sessions, and create presentations mapping business goals to technical designs
Coach and mentor other team members and IT personnel
Evaluates application software packages and makes recommendations to management. Perform feasibility studies, and buy vs. build analysis
Technical Qualifications:

10 years of Software Engineering and IT experience with knowledge in a variety of disciplines
Design and development experience using Java and JavaScript frameworks (i.e. Angular and/or React)
Both On-Premise and Cloud Platform solution design and implementation
DevOps technologies such as: continuous integration, automated testing, and application performance management tools
Deploying architectures using VM’s and container technology
Good Understanding of:
Solution integrations approaches (i.e. API, Messaging, point-to-point, SOA, etc.)
Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
SQL and structured databases, as well as NoSQL
Secure coding practices
Developing and executing unit tests
Additional Qualifications Needed:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field from an accredited university or college
Ability to manage multiple projects and set appropriate priorities
Ability to analyze compliance deficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions
Experience with internal controls, risk assessments, and internal IS control testing
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
