Reporting to the VP Sales and working closely with the VP Business Development, the Partner Development Managerat SmarterHQ is responsible for building out a strong partner network for the company through execution of a business development strategy. He/she will lead efforts to develop, strategize and form new partnership agreements and deals with companies in the digital marketing, analytics, email and personalization industries and digital marketing agencies for co-selling and co-marketing opportunities. Responsibilities include developing strategic goals and driving partner success against those goals, representing SmarterHQ to partners and leading a joint business development planning process with partners that develop mutual performance objectives, targets, and critical milestones.

The ideal candidate has a business background that enables engagement at the CXO level, as well as a sales background that leads to interactions with customers and sales/field reps. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions.

Requirements

3-5+ years of experience in business development and/or channel partner development roles in enterprise SaaS companies.
Experience with developing partnerships with digital marketing agencies, email service providers (ESPs), personalization and analytics software companies.
Experience with companies that target the large brand retail, hospitality and financial services industries.
Strong consistent, track record of over-achieving quota.
Experience strategizing and creating partner arrangements and agreements that result in mutually beneficial outcomes.
Articulate, professional demeanor, consultative selling style.
Passion for working at a company where you can earn a lot of money, be held accountable and actually see results from your own effort in real-time.
Creative, entrepreneurial and resourceful
Knowledge of how to navigate through enterprises. You are not afraid to just pick up the phone and use professional methods to pursue prospects and turn them into partners.
Ability to consistently deliver results on a quarterly and annual basis.
Ability to operate effectively in a team environment while remote.
Adaptability - experience working in collaboration with an outside, direct sales team as well as a start-up and scale-up environment.
Travel up to 30%, do what it takes to get in the door and get the deal to close.
Located in Indianapolis a plus but not required
