Currently reporting into the Controller, you will be directly involved in day-to-day Accounting Operations of a rapidly scaling SaaS start-up. A phenomenal candidate will be highly analytical and able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. What you will do:
Assist with month-end close and full-cycle accounting. Perform a timely month-end financial close process including the preparation and posting of journal entries, the preparation of month end accruals and the preparation of general ledger account reconciliations.
Invoicing. Manage inbound orders (post-close/won) and renewal contracts. Invoice via Quickbooks and vendor/supplier portals. Assure that the invoice terms match PO and contract terms.
Accounts Payable. Receive invoices either via mail or email. Review and distribute to appropriate department managers for approval. Code and post all invoices to the GL, using Bill.com
Accounts Receivable. Monitor customer AR balance and communicate with customers regarding due balances. Post wire/ACH payments to GL and apply payments to customer balances.
Employee Expenses. Review and approve final expense reports and post to ledger.
Serve as a key contact for the auditors and address various audit requests
Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies, procedures and controls. Perform technical accounting research and draft memos to document accounting treatments for transactions
Other Duties as Assigned. Working for a start-up often requires pivoting quickly to adjust to the business.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
2+ years of accounting experience
Understanding of GAAP and basic revenue recognition standards
Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive.
Impeccable attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred location: Indianapolis, IN
Nice to have:
Salesforce and Quickbooks or Netsuite
CPA, audit experience
