Hands-on learning opportunities for current college students that promote peer and professional networking, in a competition-based environment.
The MISO Challenge returns this fall! Apply before August 24.
Participants will work with students from other universities to tackle a real business problem facing MISO and the energy industry. Your cross-university team will have two weeks to collaborate asynchronously and develop a solution for one of two prompts before coming together at MISO’s headquarters for two in-person days.
This experience gives you an inside look at MISO and the opportunity to connect with internship hiring managers and company executives as you prepare for your final presentation.
Think of the XTERN Challenge as a final-round interview experience: not only are you competing for prize money, your performance could lead directly to an internship opportunity with MISO.
Fifty spots. Up to $10,000 in prize money awarded. Applications close August 24 — click below to learn more about the Challenge.
XTERN Challenge is a series of hackathons, design sprints and case competitions where students collaborate on real-world business problems designed by Indiana companies and work alongside industry mentors.
These events give students a chance to apply their classroom knowledge to practical challenges while learning new tools, gaining feedback from professionals, and building their experience to help them land their next opportunity in tech.
Each challenge is a unique opportunity for students to develop their skills, allow them to network with other college students and industry professionals, and compete to earn cash prizes with their team.
Students work collaboratively in teams to solve a challenge. Teams will be designed by TechPoint staff to ensure balanced skillsets and education levels.
You must be currently enrolled at an Indiana university in either an undergraduate or graduate level. If an undergraduate, you must be a sophomore or above to participate.
Applications for the next XTERN Challenge are open until August 24. Check out the timeline, prompts, expectations for participants, and more.
