Indianapolis Tech Veterans Co-Found Helm to Improve Executive Team Performance
Former Emplify executives Adam Weber and Andrew Clark launch a consulting firm built on a proprietary diagnostic and software
INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 1, 2026) – Adam Weber, co-founder of the employee engagement company Emplify and former chief evangelist at 15Five, and Andrew Clark, a former product executive at Emplify and 15Five, today announced the launch of Helm, an executive team diagnostic and improvement firm. Helm combines a proprietary diagnostic that measures how an executive team operates with consulting and team facilitation to help CEOs turn their executive team into an accelerator of company performance.
“Andrew and I spent years collecting and surfacing employee engagement data, when the real cultural friction was actually at the leadership-team level,” said Adam Weber, Helm co-founder and principal. “I then moved to coaching individual CEOs and executives, which is powerful for personal growth but doesn’t address leadership team dynamics. We built Helm to work on the executive team itself, which is the part neither approach could reach.”
Research finds that companies with executive teams that are aligned and work effectively together are almost twice as likely to achieve above-median financial performance. Helm’s Leadership Team Diagnostic assesses the executive team across Five Signals, a framework grounded in established research on team effectiveness and refined through thousands of hours coaching executive teams. It is a multi-rater instrument, so each leader is seen through the eyes of those they work with, including direct reports, peers, and their boss. The diagnostic gathers up to 300 data points on each per leader and thousands across the team, building a picture of how the group operates together. Helm then facilitates three working sessions: one with the CEO, one with the full team, and one focused on each leader’s own role and commitments. It ends with a prioritized roadmap for continued success.
“CEOs collect data on every part of their business, except the one that matters most,” said Andrew Clark, Helm co-founder and principal. “Most CEOs are carrying a leadership team that isn’t quite working, and they don’t know how to fix it or who to talk to about it. That’s the reason we built Helm. We help them see it clearly, and we don’t leave until it’s better.”
Helm is already live with paying clients. TVF, an employee-owned textile supplier with a 10-person leadership team, completed the diagnostic and working sessions and has signed on for ongoing monthly work with Helm.
“As president, I could finally see the leadership capabilities we have across our management team, which is a perspective you don’t usually get. Helm gives you the data, but the coaching Adam and Andrew bring is what makes it stick, said Tad Calahan, president of TVF. “Instead of the usual feedback where you check the box, move on, and nothing actually changes, it got everyone’s wheels turning and left the team wanting to go deeper.”
