Venture Club of Indiana partners with TechPoint, Elevate Ventures and 50 South Capital to triple Indiana’s exposure to tech investors
For 13 years, the Venture Club of Indiana has worked to attract investors interested in funding Indiana startup companies at its annual Innovation Showcase. The 2022 iteration of that event partners with TechPoint, 50 South Capital, which manages Indiana’s Next Level Fund, and Elevate Ventures to offer “(Ind)Venture.”
By partnering, the similarly focused groups will turn their traditionally separate events into a three-day bonanza for investor groups from across the nation to network and meet one-on-one with Indiana’s most game-changing startup companies.
- The Venture Club kicks things off Tuesday, August 30, with an invitation only reception for participants.
- 50 South Capital’s Indiana Next Level Fund Summit is open to the public on Wednesday, August 31, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Heritage Group’s The Center. Register here.
- The Showcase is open to the public on Wednesday, August 31, and features 21 promising Indiana startup companies from all over the state. Events will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Details and ticket information are available here.
- TechPoint’s VC Social for investors and startup companies is Thursday, September 1, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Biltwell Event Center followed immediately by VC Speed Dating, an invitation-only event that brings together investors and companies for curated meetings. Both events are presented by Ice Miller, LLP. Contact Roger Shuman, TechPoint’s Senior Relationship Manager and lead for VC-related events, for details on both events.
Shuman said the expansion is designed to give out-of-state investors a convenient way to see more of Indiana’s promising companies and for those companies to meet potential investors.
“We’re eager to engage with investors from all over the US and Canada and with emerging Indiana-based startup tech and tech-enabled companies,” Shuman said. “This gives them a one-stop-shop to see more of what we have to offer rather than having them travel in separately for small slices.”
Innovation Showcase Chairperson Sandy Wilcox promises big names and great insights throughout (Ind)Venture.
“The journey of a startup company is never dull; it’s more of a suspense novel with unexpected twists and turns. This year, we’re digging into the real lives of entrepreneurs with some hard-hitting sessions with past Innovation Showcase winners that are among some of the hottest early-growth companies in Indiana. Many of these companies are still raising money, so for investors, it’s a great opportunity to get insights beyond the pitch decks.”
