What led you to get into tech and this occupation? What was your first job in tech?

I have always enjoyed the analytical and logical side of challenges while trying to align multiple points of view. While at IU, my senior project really anchored this for me, putting an emphasis on understanding the business need in order to deliver the best technical solution.

My first job was in IT where I was the “IT Helpdesk” taking calls, troubleshooting hardware, software and networking problems. I loved working with my colleagues to solve their computer problems. It was a natural progression to join Software Artistry to apply those IT service management learnings in the software space. I had the benefit of learning from the best in the software industry and leveraging my experience.

When you think of a day in your life, what are the main work activities you do or responsibilities you have?

Every day, I look for new ways to help our customers better leverage our software solutions, whether that is connecting with sales, working with customer success or directly with customers.  Most days include internal meetings to ensure we are delivering the best experience to our customers. The best days are when I have the opportunity to listen to our customers’ successes and challenges, such as hosting our Executive Advisory Board. The insights I glean from these events drive my day-to-day activities to make our solutions the best they can be.

Which resources, people, books, websites, etc. would you recommend to those who want to learn more or advance their skills in this occupation?
