TechPoint Expands Adult Apprenticeship Pathways for Indiana Employers and Future Tech Talent
With support from the JPMorganChase Foundation, TechPoint is helping employers build tech talent pipelines while creating paid pathways into high-demand careers.
TechPoint has expanded its Adult Apprenticeship program to make it easier for Indiana employers and job seekers to engage with work-based learning opportunities in tech.
For employers, Adult Apprenticeship offers a practical way to build talent for high-demand roles by widening the candidate pool beyond traditional hiring pipelines. For candidates, it creates a paid pathway to gain experience, build skills and move into a tech career without following a traditional tech career path.
Adult apprenticeships are paid, work-based learning pathways that help adults build the skills and experience needed to move into or grow within high-demand roles. By combining hands-on experience with targeted training, mentorship and coaching, apprenticeships create clearer career pathways for workers while helping employers build stronger, more sustainable talent pipelines.
TechPoint’s updated Adult Apprenticeship experience now includes dedicated pathways for employers interested in hiring apprentices and candidates interested in becoming apprentices. Employers can learn how the model works, explore potential apprentice roles and connect with TechPoint’s team. Candidates can review eligibility, understand what to expect and express interest in future opportunities.
“Adult Apprenticeship is about building talent differently,” said Sally Reasoner, vice president of talent strategy at TechPoint. “Indiana employers need skilled workers for roles that are changing quickly, and many capable adults need a clearer path into those careers. This program helps connect those needs through paid work, relevant training and support for both the apprentice and the employer.”
Indiana’s need for tech talent continues to grow, but access to tech career pathways has not kept pace for many Hoosiers. According to TechPoint’s Indiana Tech Industry Data, Indiana’s technology sector supported 71,113 jobs in 2024, with an average annual wage of $128,276. The same data shows continued representation gaps in Indiana tech employment: women account for 35.3% of the technology workforce compared with 49.1% of the total employed population, Black workers account for 7.0% compared with 10.3% and Hispanic workers account for 4.9% compared with 7.9%.

Adult Apprenticeship is designed to help address both challenges: connecting employers with motivated, skills-ready talent while helping more adults access pathways into high-demand tech roles.
TechPoint’s work is in support of the Indiana Career Apprenticeship Pathway, or INCAP, a statewide effort to expand youth and adult apprenticeship pathways across Indiana. Through INCAP, employers can better understand and engage with apprenticeship models designed to align training with real workforce needs.
Support from JPMorganChase is helping TechPoint expand Adult Apprenticeship, reduce barriers to employer participation and support more apprenticeship placements across Indiana. The grant supports TechPoint’s work to expand inclusive, work-based learning pathways by helping offset employer training costs, supporting candidate recruitment and increasing access for adults from backgrounds historically underrepresented in tech.
TechPoint delivers this program with three partners, each playing a role that reinforces INCAP’s mission to expand apprenticeship pathways across Indiana.
Brooksource supports recruitment, candidate matching, and employer-aligned apprenticeship pathways.
TechIndiana, INCAP’s industry talent association, provides technical training aligned with employer needs and high-demand technology roles, directly extending INCAP’s work into skills development.
The Leadership Lab supports apprentices and managers through coaching, communication tools, and professional development.
Together, the partners help employers identify talent needs, recruit and evaluate candidates, provide role-aligned training and support apprentices as they grow into their positions. Adult Apprenticeship is designed for employers looking to widen their talent funnel beyond traditional hiring pipelines and for adults who are ready to build skills through paid, work-based learning. Potential apprenticeship roles may include areas such as cybersecurity, data analytics, software development, IT support, cloud and infrastructure, and applied AI.
