Approximately 6 in 10 Americans have a retirement account. However, in a 2023 Will and Estate Planning Study reported by Caring.com, only 1 in 3 Americans have an estate plan. Though this rate has remained relatively low, more Americans are realizing the importance of establishing a plan, partially driven by recent inflation. Overall, 64% of Americans think having a will is important, yet only 34% of Americans have an estate plan.
