A paid internship is only part of the Xtern experience. Spend your summer living alongside other students, exploring Indianapolis, and building lifelong friendships and connections.
Xtern is a paid summer internship program that connects college students with tech employers in Indiana.
Through Xtern, students spend their summer living, working and playing in Indianapolis alongside a community of peers. They gain real experience, build lifelong relationships and see what a future in Indiana could look like.
Get paid to build experience with an Indiana employer and take a meaningful step forward in your career. Xterns earn an average of $22-26 per hour and some earn more.

Live downtown with other Xterns, with housing paid for through the program. That means you can focus on your internship and apply your earnings to tuition or supplies.

Xtern includes 10 weeks of free housing. Housing dates are from Saturday, May 22 to Saturday, July 31, 2027. You must relocate to Indianapolis for the duration of the summer to be eligible for this internship position and the Xtern program.
