INDIANAPOLIS – OHANA, a pioneering organization founded in 2018 specializing in big data, privacy, and advertising to drive positive social and environmental outcomes, announced plans today to expand its operations and relocate its headquarters from Houston, Texas, to Indianapolis, Ind. The expansion will create over 100 new jobs in the next five years, with positions ranging from front and back-end developers to app and web integration roles, available both in-office and remotely.

"We're thrilled to expand OHANA 's headquarters to Indianapolis, a city that aligns perfectly with our mission to drive positive social and environmental change through innovation. By harnessing big data, we inform evidence-based decision-making for advertisers and optimize campaigns to inspire eco-friendly choices. We're grateful for the support we've received from Indianapolis and the state of Indiana as we begin this exciting new chapter," said OHANA Co-Founder Doug Mochrie.

The decision to relocate to Indianapolis follows the company’s participation in a gener8tor accelerator program in 2023, where Mochrie experienced firsthand the city’s vibrant tech community and supportive business environment. As part of the move, the company’s two founders will also be relocating to Indianapolis.

“We are thrilled to welcome OHANA to Indiana,” said Ann Lathrop, Chief Strategy Officer at the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC.) “This expansion reflects our commitment to supporting innovative companies that are driving meaningful change, and we look forward to OHANA's continued growth in our state.”

To support OHANA ’s expansion, the IEDC has offered up to $3.5 million in Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) job creation tax credits over a 15-year period, contingent on the company’s job creation goals being met. These incentives are part of Indiana’s broader strategy to attract and retain top-tier companies in the tech and innovation sectors.

“Indianapolis is the perfect place for OHANA’s next chapter of growth,” said Susanna Taft Illig, Interim Director of the City of Indianapolis’ economic development organization, Develop Indy. “By choosing to relocate its HQ to Indianapolis, OHANA joins a thriving tech ecosystem that supports and accelerates growth, making our city the ideal place to scale a business.”

"Indianapolis’ robust tech community, supportive business environment, and access to a highly skilled workforce provide the perfect backdrop for companies looking to grow their operations," said Jenny Massey, director of site selection and incentives at Sikich, which helped OHANA with its site selection.

The city's strong commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and a vibrant quality of life, supports business growth and offers an attractive setting for employees to live and thrive, she said.

"This dynamic environment will empower OHANA to continue driving meaningful social and environmental impact while achieving its ambitious growth goals," Massey said. "The expansion will significantly bolster the local tech workforce, adding a range of new opportunities for talent in the region."
