Calling All Local Nonprofits and Tech Enthusiasts to Register for Transformative Community Service Event 

ROANOKE, IN – June 11, 2026 – Reusser is thrilled to announce the 2026 AI Hackathon, an exhilarating, one-day event taking place on Saturday, August 8, 2026. We need local nonprofits to bring us their technology challenges, and we need passionate participants to help solve them.

Hosted at Reusser’s headquarters in Roanoke, Indiana, this fast-paced and fun-filled hackathon will bring together developers, designers, students, and AI enthusiasts to rapidly build real, functional solutions for nonprofit organizations in our community. In just one day, teams will collaborate to turn organizational roadblocks into automated triumphs. 

To make this incredible day of service happen, we need two things: Your challenges and your talent. 

Calling All Nonprofits: Submit Your Ideas! (Deadline: July 29) Do you have a repetitive task that eats up volunteer time? A messy data problem you can’t solve? A communication gap with your community? Local developers want to help you for free! We are actively seeking nonprofits to submit their challenges. 

Whether you need automated data entry, a basic chatbot for common questions, document summarization, or AI-driven content generation for your newsletters, we want to hear from you. We will select the projects with the highest impact potential. At the end of the event, your organization will receive a functional prototype, source code, and a roadmap for implementation. Calling All Participants: Register to Build! (Deadline: August 1) Whether you’re an experienced AI/ML engineer, a full-stack or frontend developer, a designer passionate about accessibility, a student seeking real-world experience, or simply someone curious about the power of AI, we need you! 

Join us for the ultimate service opportunity. Bring your laptop, your GitHub handle, and a collaborative spirit. We will provide project briefs, technical support, plenty of food and drinks to keep you fueled all day, and a limited-edition Hackathon t-shirt! You’ll get to flex your skills, work with cutting-edge tools (feel free to bring your Claude or Cursor access!), and end the day presenting a 2.5-minute demo of a project that will make a tangible difference in your community. 

How It Works

  1. Nonprofits submit their challenges and needs. 
  2. We select the projects with the greatest potential for community impact. 
  3. Developers form teams (or work solo) to build solutions during an intensive and fun one-day sprint. 
  4. Teams present live demos of their amazing solutions. 
  5. Nonprofits receive functional tech tools they can actually use!
