Title: IT Intern

Department: Technology

Role Overview

The IT Technician Intern will explore cutting edge technology, collaborate with professionals, and grow your experience in IT. You will serve as a first point of contact for internal customers, assisting with problem-solving, communication, and documentation. This internship is designed to provide exposure to IT support processes, helpdesk operations, and collaborative service improvement.

BE THE EXPERT:
Dive into troubleshooting and resolving service requests, incidents, and events within established service levels.
Get hands-on experience with workstation and onboarding set ups for new Credit Union employees.
Support the configuration, testing, and distribution of workstations (Laptops, Tablets, etc.).
Shadow and learn from experienced technicians including escalation processes for complex technical issues.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to develop IT knowledge.

LIVE THE PURPOSE: 
Maintain a positive and professional work environment.
Assist with assigning permissions to users in Active Directory.
Provide support for key IT projects that improve member experience.
Opportunity to participate in key projects and objectives.
Perform other duties as required that impact thousands of members.

GROW THE BUSINESS:
Collaborate with IT team members to document and contribute to Helpdesk service improvement.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles.
Learn to coordinate escalation and resolution of issues with IT team members and technology partners.

GROW PROFESSIONALLY:

Continuous learning through professional networks, education, and mentorship.
Develop industry knowledge, gain critical thinking, and complex technical skills.
Build relationships with staff at other Elements locations by participating in occasional check-ins or remote work experiences.

Minimum Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Interest in technology and willingness to learn.
Ability to foster an inclusive environment that promotes belonging.
Focus on respect and excellent service to both external and internal (team) members.
Demonstrated integrity and ability to build trust.
Basic understanding of Windows and Mac workstations.
Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Strong customer service, written, and oral communication skills.
Problem-solving and issue-resolution skills.
Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds of equipment.

Preferred Requirements:
Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, or similar platforms (academic or personal projects acceptable).
Exposure to cloud services, remote support tools, or mobile device management is a plus.
Experience supporting remote users is a plus.
Familiarity with ITIL processes, Virtual Application Delivery (Citrix), Identity Management tools (SSO), AV Solutions (Microsoft Teams), or Remote Support Software (BeyondTrust) is a plus.
