The Systems Administrator supports the Director of IT to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization’s technical infrastructure. Specifically, he/she oversees help desk operations, triaging and resolving tickets in a timely manner and consistently monitoring processes.

This position employs effective communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems. They also provide technical support across the enterprise, while focusing on continuous improvement by staying up to date with the latest technology industry trends.

This person implements solutions, provides training to organization personnel, and assists the Director of IT in developing the overall enterprise IT strategy as directed by the Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Financial Officer. The Systems Administrator assists the Director of IT with the critical responsibility of cyber security risk mitigation.

This person is recognized for his or her attention to detail, proactive nature, communication skills, and ability to serve varied departmental perspectives to advance the organization’s objectives. The IT Systems Administrator represents the organization well and is comfortable communicating with stakeholders across each organizational department.

This individual pursues the opportunity to grow technical expertise, contributes to a collaborative environment, and delivers IT solutions. This position demands a blend of technical expertise, organization skills, and embracing challenges. It requires grace in relating with others and poise under pressure.

Requirements
  • Responds to IT support requests from employees and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitors system performance and ensuring the reliability and availability of IT services.
  • Assists in monitoring security alerts and logs for potential threats.
  • Administers and provides support and training for Office 365 Services/Products: Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and others.
  • Maintains and updates technical documentation and the IT knowledge base.
  • Monitors and deploys updates and patches to systems and applications.
  • Tracks antivirus, backup solutions, and endpoint inventories (including warranty statuses). Conduct regular endpoint health checks and document remediation efforts as needed.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of IT projects and upgrades.
  • Coordinates problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or departments/divisions.
  • Installs and configures new software and hardware, including servers, network devices, and other IT equipment in coordination with CISO and managed IT infrastructure.
  • Performs routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups.
  • Provides regular reporting on support system requests.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge. Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways to take advantage of innovative technology.
  • Participates in the research, evaluation, planning, and implementation of server hardware, software, server and business continuity and related projects, policies and procedures
  • All other duties, requirements and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of IT, Outsourced CISO and Chief Financial Officer.

Work Experience Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience managing Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Experience with configuring/managing Azure and Office 365/Teams environments (Microsoft Entra, Defender, Purview, Intune, etc.).
  • Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems and data backup/recovery).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Handles confidential information with absolute discretion.
  • Flexible and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
