Event Description

August is National Black Business Month. Help a small business owner of color bridge the wealth gap by offering your expertise.

The Small Business Hackathon events that we're doing are having a real impact on the participating business owners. I continue to be moved by the feedback we hear from both business owners and volunteers.

Black business owners are wealthier than their peers who do not own businesses. And many Black business owners hire from within their communities, which helps to fuel job opportunities in neighborhoods of color, according to a report from the Association for Enterprise Opportunity.

We need your business expertise. During each Small Business Hackathon event, Volunteers are paired with Business Owners and moved into individual breakout rooms to work on a specific deliverable for the duration of a 2-hour, virtual, online meeting. We provide easy-to-use templates for the deliverables so there is virtually no advance work needed.

We are in need of volunteers in the following areas:

• Financial Projections
• Website UX Review
• Social Media Marketing
• Competitive Landscape Overview
